Easy Hello

Easy Hello Community Guidelines

Short version: be kind, keep it low-pressure, and don't make it weird.

Easy Hello is designed to make it feel easy and safe to show up once. That only works if the WhatsApp groups and meet-ups feel welcoming, boring (in a good way), and respectful.

The basics

Please:

  • Be kind. No harassment, threats, hate, or persistent creepiness.
  • Don't doxx people or pressure them for personal info.
  • No spam, scams, or aggressive promotion.
  • If someone says "no" (or doesn't engage), that's the end of it.

WhatsApp specifics

A couple of practical realities:

  • WhatsApp shows your phone number to other group members. Join only if you're comfortable with that.
  • Don't share or use screenshots, phone numbers, or messages outside the group without clear permission.

Activities are public

We stick to public venues and public events (pubs, cafés, libraries, community centres, markets). Not private homes or "secret locations".

If something feels off

  • Leave first. You don't owe anyone an explanation.
  • If it's happening in a WhatsApp group, message the hosts (Rod/Peter). We'll take it seriously.
  • Block/report anyone who behaves badly.
  • If you're in immediate danger, call emergency services (000 in Australia).

What we'll do

Hosts may remove people from WhatsApp groups if needed.

One more thing

We're just getting started. We're putting in the obvious guardrails, and we'll improve as we learn. If you spot a gap, tell us.

Easy Hello is a social enterprise founded by Rod Hamilton and Peter Haasz in Naarm (Melbourne, Australia).

We pay our respects to the Traditional Owners and Custodians of this land and waterways, the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung people, and to their Elders past and present.
